COMMENT Belongs to an extended superfamily with mutliple paralogs. Although “Protein-L-isoaspartate O-methyltransferase (EC 2.1.1.77)” annotation is suggested by many sources for TM0748 and for its multiple homologs in various species, an alternative role in tRNA methylation is possible and probably more likely.
An established bacterial protein-L-isoaspartate O-methyltransferase (gene pcm in E.coli) is much closer to TM0704
